We have been learning about Diamante poem's this term. We can:

• use interesting (adjectives) words
• compare two topics
• use verbs (doing) words

"I am learning to get a higher lesson on reading eggs. I find it easy to do the lessons. I find it tricky do the driving tests. My goal is to finish reading eggs and start reading."

I Am Learning To create a wearable piece of art

Wearable Art Showcase 

For the past 2 terms, Room 10 and 11 have been learning about Space. We have been exploring the different planets and the galaxy. We decided for our wearable art piece that we would make galaxy skirts and capes with the planets on it. 

We learnt many different art techniques such as water colouring, flicking of paint, dabbing of paint and blending colours together. It was a long process but are all very proud of the final product!

We Are Learning To skip count in 2's with support from the 100's board.

We Are Learning To describe the plot.

"We are learning to find the problem in the story.  We found it easy to read the words because they were our sight words. We found it tricky to solve the problem and find the solution."

Wheel-a-thon Fun!

This term, the Year 2’s had a Wheels Day. It was exciting to bring our own wheels as well as see our friends wheels. We were able to show the 3R’s by:

Respect: Have a caring attitude to others 

- Sharing our wheels with our friends.

- Being careful and taking our time when wheeling on the track.

Responsibility: Be prepared for the day

- Remembering what day Wheels Day was. 

- Bringing our wheels as well as our safety gear. 

Resilience: Participate in a new experience at EPS

- Ask for help from a teacher or friend if we had trouble with our wheels. 

- Try our best by wheeling safely around others. 

I Am Learning About 2D and 3D shapes.

Room 10 and 11 have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes.

We made our shape with toothpicks and marshmallows, yum! After we made our shape we got to eat it. 

"I am learning to make shapes with marshmallows. I found it easy to find the shapes in the classroom. I found it tricky to form 2D and 3D shapes."

I Am Learning To write a recount

I Am Learning To write a recount about blowing bubbles. 

I will be successful when I have:

• A title 
• An introduction
• Sequence words to begin my sentences
• Used the 5 W's (who, what, when, where, why)

"I am learning to write a recount about bubbles. I found it easy to write the w words. I found it tricky to blow the bubbles."

We Are Learning To count on from the biggest number.

"We are learning to count on. I found it tricky to write the numbers neatly. I found it easy to count up from the biggest number. I can keep practising on Mathletics."

We Are Learning To discuss the characters, setting and plot of a fiction story.

"We are learning to find who the characters are, setting and what the story is about. Finding the characters is the easiest. It is tricky to talk about the plot."

I Am Learning To use describing words

For Mother’s Day we did some special Mother’s Day writing using Word Art.

I Am Learning To kick a ball.

On Friday, we were lucky enough to go on the field and learn some football skills. We had so much fun playing football and learning new games.

We Are Learning To read with fluency and expression.

Every week we learn a new poem that we take home to share with our families. We worked with our group to pick our favourite and practised reading it.

"I am learning to read a poem. I am proud of learning a new poem. It can be tricky to read some new words."

We Are Learning To add details to our writing.

"I am learning write about myself. I found it easy to make my letters the right size. I found it tricky to listen to the teacher."

We have been learning to sketch our faces using a sketch pencil.

We used our different types of lines (whispering lines, loop the loop lines and skinny lines). Then we went over it in pastels to make them stand out. Lastly, we added some funky glasses to our faces!

We Are Learning How to read the graph and talk about the results.

For Maths we have been learning all about Statistics in Room 11. We have been learning about bar graphs, pie graphs and pictographs. Here is an activity I can do on Mathletics to help me.

"I am learning to look at pictographs. I find it easy to count the numbers. I find it hard pressing some numbers."
